Questions about particular sessions should be asked in a separate thread.

There are coach-led sessions in Sheffield at various schools, but none that are open to the public that I know of.

Hi,

I work with a young boy aged 15 who is very interested in free running, I was wondering if the sessions are done by a qualified instructor etc as I need to make sure that things are risk assessed etc before he can do it as part of our policies. (a pain i no)
Are these sessions just for people to meet up or are they proper training sessions?

Regards
Zoe

Although there may be qualified coaches attending the sessions, these are not structured sessions and there is no one in charge. It is an informal group of practitioners and everyone is expected to be responsible for themselves. Outdoor training is not really suitable for young kids anyway, so these sessions are generally designed for older people.

You can go there whenever, we don't own it or anything. Whether you get kicked off has more to do with what you do while you are there.

Training there noisily while there are people working or studying in the offices and classrooms next to it is probably not a very responsible thing to do, which is why we tend to keep it to evenings and weekends. If you're careful though then you can probably train without problem at any time, but obviously use your own judgment and if it looks like you're causing a problem then head somewhere else.
