Bail and Take a Step Back to Think

Bail and Take a Step Back to Think

Postby Ben » Mon Feb 11, 2008 7:09 pm

Have you ever bailed, with potentially bad consequences, but got off lightly and thought "woah ... I could have easily done some serious damage then ... I ought to be careful" - well, have you?

Just saw this video and it reminded me of that feeling:

http://parkour-videos.com/david-fall-and-message/

Sometimes it takes something like this to make us realise how we take for granted how easy these moves feel to us because we practise them so often.
I'M BACK, BABY!

A life without adventure is likely to be unsatisfactory.
A life without limits on adventure is likely to be short.

If you watch the video you HAVE to read the related post, here is a copy of it.
In the article there are a lot more thoughts and feelings put forward and it makes for a necessary read (pardon the first paragraph).

Peace

lol like that bothered belle. did it fuck. when he clipped he knew then he was going to get up as soon as he hit the deck. this is dave belle. he been doing pk longer then anyone. he does outrageiously impressive stuff. imagine the bails he's had in his career. thats why he is so mentally strong as he gets back up and trys again. thats the whole thing with a bail. revise what you did then do it better.

Haha yes many a time. About a month ago I tried a front somersault across some concrete to some grass, but on my take off, about half my foot went over the edge so I just fell over onto my back. I thought that I could've done some serious damage, if I hadn't landed on the grass for example it would have been a more seious case than just muscle spasms for a week.

Yup, except not really a bail. Simple vault, but legs had been feeling like lead all day. So, knee->bar->bar sang->bar went quiet->knee stopped vibrating a minute later.
Hmm.
Much thinking has been done, like how I'm older so should be slower - a weird thing to think at 24! But hey, live and learn - I'll be more confident I can do things before doing more things. 100 reps has a nice enough ring to it, maybe I'll start trying that in evenings :)
Defeat is not part of pk :)
Therefore pk will never die...

Discuss :D

bailed as recently as today. caught my foot on a rail i was vaulting, hand slid off the rail, sprained my wrist. but i stood back up and continued training for the rest of the day ( i didnt realise it was sprained at this point xD)
feels great to stand up from a bail.
